Inflation dipped in June but is expected to rise again as the war with Iran flares up, leaving the Federal Reserve, under the leadership of a new chairman, split on whether to raise or lower interest rates. Relief may finally be in sight as the temporary global tariffs are set to expire on July 24.
Contractors finally got some relief when the temporary global tariffs expired in July, but that relief will be short lived as new tariffs have been ordered on many of America’s primary trading partners, and many product- and country-specific tariffs are still keeping material prices high, and all major forecasts still put the likelihood of a recession in 2026 at above average.
Basu will read the economic barometer and share his insights, alerting contractors to risks and opportunities, growing and slowing market sectors
